Below our some top tips and key reminders for the day, drawing on Information from the website links above.
Here are some important reminders for race day
1) Schedule - Individual start times are now online, check them out here FINAL SCHEDULE NOW. Parking opens at 08:00. Numer collection opens at 08:30.
2) Number Collection - Number collection is based on your EVENT Wave, this is the order that the various race waves such as half marathon wave 1, 10km wave 1, 5km wave 1 etc are being slotted into the overall event program. Check your race number and you will collect it from desk which corresponds to your EVENT Wave.
For example, the 10km Wave 1 is the 4th wave in the overall Event, so 5km numbers are collected from Desk 4 - check the Schedule to find your Event Wave, and therefore your number collection point.
Start lists - these are now published on our website.
3) Parking - Please car share where possible as we at capacity for car parking space. The event car parks open from 08:00. Please park at one of the two schools that we are using for parking, they are opposite to each other despite having different postcodes.
Parking is £2/car payable to the schools. Please have the exact cash ready. We don't have the ability to take card payments.
4) Race start - please read the schedule to see what time your race starts and suggested arrival times at the parking area. Please note the 6km has its own start point and briefing time, as there is a 1.7km walk to the start. All 6km runners will leave together and be taken to the start by a member of the relish team.
5) Start Times - You need to start in the wave that you registered for as all the start times are pre loaded into the timing computers. If you set off early, not only will be your time be inaccurate, this will effect all other runners too!
We can not make any changes to waves within a distance, but you can still change your race distance by going to the Event Info desk on the morning of the race.
6) Drinks Stations - UPDATED
There are 1 Drinks stations on the 6km at 2km into your run
There are 2 Drinks Station on the 10km at 4km and 6km
There are 3 Drinks Stations on the Half Marathon at 2.5 miles, 7.5miles and 10.5 miles
There are 7 Drinks Stations on the Marathon at 2.5 miles, 7.5 miles, 10.5 miles, 13.1 miles, 15.6 miles, 20.6 miles, 23.7miles.
For environmental reasons we encourage everyone to be self sufficient, running with their own water supply and topping up at our amazing feed stations as you go. There will be jugs and containers to refill flasks.
7) Photos - Professional race photos are available to purchase from Blowfish Photography, you can search quickly using your race number or by uploading a selfie. You can register now to hear when your photos are up!
Photos are added to their site within 48hrs of the event and there is a 10% discount automatically applied on all purchases made with the first 48hrs of the photos going on sale.
8) On the Day Places - We are SOLD OUT for the 6km, 10km, Half Marathon and Marathon. We do have spaces for runners who are already registered to go down or up in distance, but we can not take any new bookings for this race.
We only have places for the 500m and 2km Colourbust.
9) Refreshments - We have food and drink caterers to keep you and your supporters freshed during the day
10) Bag Drop - We have a self serve bag drop; drop and collect your own bag. It is attended; you need to show the baggage label matches your race number in order to be able to retrieve a bag.
11) Toilets - There are toilets at the start/finish point, as well as at the start of Lap 2 of the marathon.
12) PROVISIONAL Results - these are posted from the event by 18:00 (probably earlier) and can be found on our website
13) Music - Only bone conducting headphones are permitted as you need to be able to hear other users along the route and in the tunnel, as well as marshals directions and other users on busy road crossings.
14) T-Shirts - We have our Relish t-shirts featuring a steam train to go with our Two Tunnels and Wye Valley Tunnel runs. They are made from recycled plastic bottles available to buy on the day; light weight and breathable, in male and female cuts, red and black colours. £30 a t-shirt or £25 for the female cut racer back vest.
15) Shared Path - Please follow the basics that we are all accustom to; respect everyone's personal space, take advantage of the additional hygiene measures...and most importantly, remember to smile and enjoy your day! Please remember that we have no priority on the path and runners need to share the path and give way to other users, thank you.
Covid / Injury / Illness
Please do not attend the event if you have a positive covid test. If you can not attend due to injury, illness or a positive covid test you can complete your race as a virtual, on any course and at a time of your choosing within 4 weeks of the race and we will post out your medal and goodies. Just reply to this email with your evidence when you have completed your run.
