Welcome to the Badminton Estate Races!

We're so excited that you're going to be joining us at Badminton on Sunday!

We are in for a lovely summer's day for the inaugural Badminton race, with temperatures forecast to rise to 23 degrees by midday and a couple more degrees from there in the afternoon 🌡️

As with all our races, we strongly encourage half and marathon runners (at a minimum) to carry their own water supplies to regularly hydrate between our drinks stations which come roughly every 5km. For all runners, we also recommend a cap, sunglasses and sun cream as part of your kit for race day 😎

Registration Team - Marshals needed

We are looking for a few more people to join us in registration, giving our race numbers before the race. If you have a start in a later wave (or would be happy moving to a later wave) and would be like to come early, or have spectators who would be happy pitching in between 08:50 - 11:30/12:00 please send us an email and we will send you a free 5km/6km/10km race code after the event 🙏

Here are some important reminders for race day

1) Schedule - Individual start times are now online, check them out here FINAL SCHEDULE NOW. Parking opens at 08:30. Number collection opens at 09:00.

2) Number Collection - Number collection is based on your EVENT Wave, this is the order that the various race waves such as half marathon wave 1, 10km wave 1, 5km wave 1 etc are being slotted into the overall event program. Check your race number and you will collect it from desk which corresponds to your EVENT Wave.

Start lists - these are now published on our website

3) Parking - Please car share where possible. The event car parks open from 08:30. Please DO NOT navigate to the Badminton estate on Google, as this will bring you to the main estate entrance and there is no access to the event from this direction.

Parking is £2/car. Please have the exact cash ready at the gate. We don't have the ability to take card payments for parking.

Please note there is no parking outside of the event car park as it is on a narrow country lane and parking on the lane would compromise access for local residents and emergency vehicles. 

4) Race start - Please read the schedule to see what time your race starts and suggested arrival times at the parking area.

5) Start Times - You need to start in the wave that you registered for as all the start times are pre loaded into the timing computers. If you set off early, not only will be your time be inaccurate, this will effect all other runners too!

We can not make any changes to waves within a distance, but you can still change your race distance by going to the Event Info desk on the morning of the race.

6) Drinks Stations 

There is 1 Drinks Station on the 5km, at 2km into the run

There are 2 Drinks Station on the 10km at 4.5km and 7km

There are 3 Drinks Stations on the Half Marathon at 4.25miles, 8.25 miles and 11 miles

There are 7 Drinks Stations on the Marathon at 4.25miles, 8.25 miles, 11 miles, 13.1 miles, 17.3 miles, 21.3 miles, 24.1 miles.

For environmental reasons we encourage everyone to be self sufficient, carrying their own water for better hydration on the move and then topping up at our amazing feed stations as you go. There will be jugs and containers to refill flasks.

There will also be a huge buffet of tasty treats at the finish line and on the on course feed stations for the longer races, including GF and vegan snacks.

8) On the Day Places - There are on the day spaces for each distance, please see the schedule for details. We can accept card, cash or contactless payment.

Marathon - 10:00 start

2km - 10:10 start

5km - 10:30 start

10km - 11:00 start

Half Marathon - 11:10 start

Runners can also swap distances going up or down a distance by reporting to Event Information on the day. We are not able to make any more changes at this time. 

Runners are not able to change their wave within their distance.

9) Refreshments - We have a caterer and a coffee van serving tasty treats, hot and cold drinks and the most amazing cakes!

10) Bag Drop - We have a self serve bag drop; drop and collect your own bag. It is attended; you need to show the baggage label matches your race number in order to be able to retrieve a bag.

11) Toilets - There are toilets at the start/finish point, as well as at the start of Lap 2 of the marathon.

10) PROVISIONAL Results - These are posted to our website on Sunday evening at around 18:00 

11) Music - Only bone conducting headphones are permitted, we need you be able to hear marshals instructions out on the course.

12) Race Photos - Professional race photos are available to purchase from Image Works Photography, you can search quickly using your race number or by uploading a selfie. You can register now to hear when your photos are up AND receive a 10% discount code for your photos (valid for 48hrs once the photos are live)

13) T-Shirts - We have our Relish t-shirts featuring landmarks across our races. They are made from recycled plastic bottles available to buy on the day; light weight and breathable, in male and female cuts, red and black colours. T-shirts are £30 (male and female specific styles) and racer back vests (female only) are £25.

 

Covid / Injury / Illness

If you can not attend due to injury, illness or covid you can complete your race as a virtual, on any course and at a time of your choosing within 4 weeks of the race and we will post out your medal and goodies. Just reply to this email with your evidence when you have completed your run. 

Unfortunately we are now too close to the event to make any substitutions as the booking platform is closed and we have a very busy few days ahead out of the office preparing for the race. The final date for making a change to a booking is 14 days out from an event.
